“Outstanding Product/System Development in Instrumentation/Automation” Award
Mr. Satish V. Pathak has bagged one more award from ISA Asia Pacific Dist.-14 for his technology invention – Digital Controlled Valve. This honor is titles as “Outstanding Product/System Development in Instrumentation/Automation” Award. The award was presented to him at the Annual ISA Honors & Awards Gala on Saturday October 15, 2016 at Hotel Taj, Santacruz (East), Mumbai – 400099. The award was presented in hands of Dr. Bharat R. Mehta DVP ISA D 14, Senior Vice President Reliance Industries Limited and Mr. J. W. Keaveney, ISA Global President, Emerson Process Management, USA.
ISA has awarded Mr. Satish Pathak for Excellence in Technical Innovation of Product.This is a Highly Precious Global Award.
Excellence in Individual Technical Innovation, Endowed by UOP, a Honeywell Company: Recognizes individuals who have played a critical role in the conception, design, and/or implementation of an innovative product, process and/or service. May be presented to multiple (up to five) honorees.
Gold Medal at Prestigious Serbian Exhibition of Inventions
Mr. Satish V. Pathak recently also has received his 3rd international award, A Gold Medal from prestigious Serbian Exhibition of Inventions for same invention of Digital Controlled Valve. This year’s exhibition has taken the participation of 98 works (working inventions) with over 160 authors (technical papers) from 18 countries and 3 continents. Dr. A S Rao President of Indian Innovators Association had sent the entry of Mr. Pathak on receiving invite from Mr. Djuro Borak, President of the inventors of Belgrade, Serbia.

My invention Digital Controlled Valve was selected as India representation to International Exhibition of Inventions Kunshan, China 2016. Dr. A S Rao represented total 4 inventions from India. The Silver Medal and Certificate was awarded on 20 November 2016 in China.

Persistence pays off Interview with Mr. Satish Pathak
What does it take to become an ISA Technology Award winner? In this interview with Satish V. Pathak it’s clear that his persistence and insight have paid dividends throughout his career, culminating in the award for his digitally controlted valve which allows for precise dispensing of liquid using a gravity flow.
When asked about his background, Mr. Pathak speaks fondly of his childhood. “As a child I was always yen/ inquisitive not always the best student in the class but I was always very curious and loved to get my hands onto technology. After graduation I worked for NRC Limited which exposed me to a lot of Taylor and Honeywell pneumatic instrumentation along with other analogue electronic instruments. At that time the world was marching on with PLC, DCS and so on — in fact some even believed there was nothing more to be learnt at Nlif about modern instrumentation! However I knew the engineers in many modern plants were sitting in centralised control rooms not getting exposure of handling. Their exposure to handling was limited to replacing add-on cards.
